Under The Sun Tour
Uncle Kracker, Sugar Ray & Blues Traveler July 6
Consider it your own private backyard party on a beautiful summer night. Hang out with some friends, sip some cold ones and listen to hit after hit that keeps you in the party mood. The only difference is that now your backyard is 30 acres, it’s on the Fox River and that music is coming from live bands including Uncle Kracker, Sugar Ray and Blues Traveler.
DJ mark ep – 6:20 P.M.
A DJ will get the party started playing house music before the three bands go on stage.
UNCLE KRACKER – 7 P.M.
Uncle Kracker’s introduction to the music business was pretty cool. In ’94 he met the undiscovered Kid Rock at a turntables competition in Michigan. They became friends; Rock asked him to play turntables for him in concert and Kracker went on to do tables and featured vocals on Kid Rock’s debut album. That set the early foundation for Uncle Kracker’s career.
Kracker’s freshman album, Double Wide, hit no. 7 on Billboard’s chart and he was off and running. His second album produced the cover of Drift Away, which shattered the record for the most weeks at No. 1 on Adult Contemporary. Kracker’s music has evolved over the years and his passion for country has been his focus. But when he takes the stage, it will be a night of both sounds that will have you rockin’.
SUGAR RAY – 8 P.M.
After being together for 10 years playing funk metal, the guys from Orange County experimented with a new sound that propelled them to the top of the charts. It started with Fly, which hit No. 1 on Billboard’s list¸ and just kept on going with Every Morning, Some Day and When It’s Over – all of which dominated the charts when they hit the airwaves. Now Mark McGrath and friends perform those and more live in Aurora.
BLUES TRAVELER – 9 P.M.
They started as a garage band in Jersey, played their first real gig at a frat party and went on to tour with the Rolling Stones, win a Grammy and record 14 albums. Their sound is unmistakable, especially when you hear front man John Popper’s vocals and harmonica. Blues Traveler is that unique blend of blues and folk rock, psychedelic rock and good ole soul southern jamming. Be ready to get on your feet, Blues Traveler will be in the house.
All tickets are General Admission. The area in front of the stage, on the sides and in front (north) of the sound tower will be standing room only. No chairs will be allowed in that area, and no benches will be set up. Bag and folding chairs will be allowed behind (south) of the sound tower and on the grass hill.
