For the first time ever, Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks is making a stop at the gorgeous RiverEdge Park along the Fox River. The world-renowned theater company will be presenting Shakespeare’s comedic masterpiece, The Comedy of Errors. Join us for this FREE event (thanks to the generous support of Dunham Fund), and bring the whole family for an unforgettable night of theater — perfect for all ages. Bring a chair or blanket and sit on the lawn, or settle into one of our newly-installed seats and get ready for a riotous comedy in a setting that old William Shakespeare himself would have loved.

The story unfolds when Antipholus and his lifelong servant Dromio find themselves in Ephesus as they search the world over for a twin, lost in infancy. Everywhere they go in this foreign land, complete strangers insist that they’re best of friends. Is everyone here quite mad? Mistaken identities abound, as one bewildering day in Ephesus makes for hilarious complications—and a bewitching theatrical experience. Shakespeare’s popular comedy is adapted and directed by Jeff Award-winning director and choreographer, David H. Bell

The south end of RiverEdge Park is fenced off and closed due to construction. This means you cannot walk down the bike path from New York Street to RiverEdge Park. It also means that no one can sit in the south third of the park. Please leave yourself plenty of extra time to find a location to sit. Large crowds are expected.

This year, 4,000 permanent seats have been installed in the park. This means that the cement area from the front of the stage just past the sound tower is taken up by seats. There is no room for bag chairs in this area. These seats are open to the general public on a first-come, first-served basis. Please consider leaving your bag chairs at home and using the seats instead.
